2010 Contest: Designing a Hydrogen Community

Congratulations to Missouri University of Science and Technology, 2010 Grand Prize Winner!

The Grand Prize winning team from the Missouri University of Science and Technology
at the 2010 NHA Hydrogen Conference & Expo in Long Beach, CA.

The 2010 Hydrogen Student Design Contest challenged teams of university students from around the world to plan and design the basic elements of a hydrogen community in Santa Monica, CA. They were asked to design one scalable hydrogen fueling station; identify renewable hydrogen sources in the community; and identify customers for early market hydrogen applications. As a part of the prize package, the Grand Prize-winning team had all-expenses paid trips to present their design at the 2010 National Hydrogen Association Hydrogen Conference and Expo in Long Beach, CA and the 2010 World Hydrogen Energy Conference in Essen, Germany.

2009 Contest: Green Buildings with Hydrogen

Congratulations to University of Waterloo, the Grand Prize Winner!

Hydrogen Design Contest 2009 Winners

The winning teams from the University of Waterloo and Wayne State University at the
2009 NHA Hydrogen Conference & Expo in Columbia, SC.

The student teams designed a green student center powered by hydrogen for the State University of New York - Farmingdale. Entrants were challenged to design an energy efficient building that utilized hydrogen produced from renewable sources for as much of the building's energy needs as feasible. All hydrogen technologies and systems included in designs were required to be commercially available and ready for implementation for real-world use by June 2009.
